A warm “Hello” to my fellow Warriors!
In 2000, when the Class of 1960 held their 40th reunion, they hosted a picnic at Live Oak Park to which they invited the classes of 1957 through 1963. Everyone had such a great time that it was decided to try to stay in touch by getting better organized, and the Fallbrook Alumni Association was born! We became incorporated in 2003 and have been working closely with the high school administration and staff to provide much-needed support in the areas in which we feel we can make the greatest contribution. Our efforts are focused on helping the students of Fallbrook High School. Click on the tabs above for more information.
Gosh, it seems like yesterday that we were reaching out and gathering ideas for this group we call the Fallbrook Alumni Association. Membership has grown to a sizeable amount from former students living in Hawaii, Amsterdam, Alaska, Belize, and all across the continental U.S. Sounds pretty good doesn’t it? Well…those of you who know me can attest that I promote the “MORE IS BETTER PHILOSOPHY” when it comes to the Fallbrook Alumni Association. That is to say, “WE NEED MORE MEMBERS!” I am asking you to please mention our organization to whomever you think would appreciate what we do for the “kids” and would like to “give back” to FUHS and….don’t forget to renew if you need to. Just click on the "Membership" tab, above.
To help raise money for our many causes, we are saving all of our Major Market receipts to be submitted to Major Market for a return of 1% of the total amount spent. Even a local retirement community, Silvergate, is saving receipts for us! We are also selling paper scrip, to be redeemed like cash, at Major Market. It adds another 7% to the 1% we already get. Thanks to all of you who have been able to save for us. It all adds up!
Most importantly, we are blessed with the amazingly generous people in our community who have helped us to achieve our goals…..GIVE BACK TO FUHS!!
Backpack Buddy Program: Every year since 2003, the Alumni Association has provided backpacks with school supplies to Fallbrook High students faced with financial hardships. 75 backpacks were delivered again this year! THANKS, ALL!
Each June I have the privilege of attending “Senior Awards Night” where we present the four following awards totaling $3000. The scholarships are given based upon need, good citizenship and/or academic excellence, to graduating students in the following areas: a student planning to further their education in Trade or Technical School; a student planning to pursue a career in the Fine Arts; a student planning to major in Liberal Studies in a college or university with the desire to go into Elementary Education. We also present a one-time award to a deserving student who has done consistent work academically, done random acts of kindness, or provided inspiration and leadership to fellow students through exemplary behavior by exhibiting the highest level of citizenship and community service. It is called the Alumni Warrior Spirit Award.

The association also maintains a database of Fallbrook alumni to help reunion committee’s contact their classmates regarding upcoming reunion plans, and we maintain membership in the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society. Meetings are as needed (usually quarterly), to conduct business and plan for upcoming events, such as Homecoming, the annual Fallbrook Christmas Parade, the Historical Society's Community Picnic, and our Backpack Packing Party and Potluck Barbecue.
CONTRIBUTIONS ARE NOW TAX-DEDUCTIBLE! HELP US, IF YOU CAN!
Membership is $15.00/year, from July 1st to June 30th. If you pay 4 years, in advance ($60.00), the fifth year is free. Our overhead is very low, so almost all of the money we raise goes right back to the kids. Members are also encouraged to donate additional money, if possible. You may designate how you wish your tax-deductible donations to be used and, in some cases, matching funds are sometimes available. (501c3 #770605634)
